Support Letter!!

Dear Friends and Family,

This January I have an exciting opportunity that I would love to share with you. I’ve been given the privilege of going to Perth, Australia with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) for a six month Discipleship Training School. Youth With A Mission is a world wide mission and training organization. During the first three months there is a classroom/training segment. I will be living in community with the other fifty or so students in Perth. We will have daily classes, work duties, small groups, as well as large group activities, and service opportunities. It will be summer so there will be an occasional trip to the beach as well! The second three months we will go on outreach to the Nations, to as of right now an undecided place. We plan to go out of Australia on different projects, and then come back to work with high school students in their schools and youth groups, sharing God’s love with everyone we meet. These months are meant to be an intense time of learning, listening, and growing.
I’m praying and hoping that this trip will be a wonderful time for me to step out of my comfort zone, grow in my knowledge and relationship with Christ, and seek after Him as to what my future holds. I always done things with friends and almost never share my faith. So going to the opposite side of the world by myself and learning how to share my faith to complete strangers is going to be huge but so worth it. These two things are the two that I’m most anxious about as I set out on this trip. I can’t wait to take classes on the character and nature of God, repentance and forgiveness, relationships, God’s father heart, evangelism, and missions; we will study one of these every week during the first three months. I know that living in a place where I will be surrounded by fellow believers seeking God to know him more is going to be encouraging and helpful as I am growing and making God even more my God and not just my parents or others’ God. During all of this I’m praying that the experiences and time I spend with God focusing on what he wants for me will give me direction for my future plans. This is going to be quite a character building journey that I’m setting out to experience.

A couple of prayer requests right now are to meet my financial requirements, to have peace about all of the changes that are coming my way, and being well prepared for all of the new and different challenges.
